Apostroph in person: Renata Züger

Renata Züger joined Apostroph in May 2016 via a rather circuitous route: from an animal sanctuary to a yoga studio to a jewellery shop in Trinidad and Tobago to travelling around Central America to a candyfloss stall at Lucerne’s autumn fair! You could say this qualified translator has been there, done that.

Variety is also what our friendly colleague likes about working as a project manager at Apostroph: she creates projects, forwards them to the freelancers and enjoys meeting the various challenges of her working day. She has a knack for troubleshooting technical issues – and makes up for her gently impatient nature with optimism and humour.

Fizzing with energy, Renata Züger tends to spend her leisure hours on the move in some way or other: dancing (ragga, salsa, bachata, merengue, kizomba ...), jogging, rollerblading and snowboarding. She also loves the hot rhythms of a Mexican band she knows and likes cooking alongside them and other friends of an evening. Heat also features in her holidays: exotic, warm destinations like Central America and the Caribbean are her preferred destinations, though she also loves the islands in the Indian Ocean. To paraphrase Confucius: “Wherever she goes, she goes with all her heart.”

A few years ago she took her courage in both hands and bungee jumped from Switzerland’s Verzasca dam (“What a rush!”); marrying her soulmate in 2016 was perhaps not quite as nerve-wracking.... Congratulations!
